Product details

The Finish of the Hornby Railroad R3754 OO Gauge 0-4-0T Type D 7 Blundell King Timber Merchants is Pristine. Length: 108mm Period: Era 3/4 Operator/Livery: Blundell King Timber Merchants Class: Type D Designer: George Robson Entered Service: 1912 Minimum Curve: R1 Motor: RM Wheel Configuration: 0-4-0T In 1907, the locomotive superintendent of Guest, Keen & Nettleford's Dowlais Works, George Robson, built a small class of heavy 0-4-0T Type D locomotives for use at the iron and steel works there, two of which were named by King George V and Queen Mary in June 1912. Operating conditions for the locomotive crews at Dowlais was tough, extended shifts leaving them cold, tired and hungry, but these large 0-4-0 tank engines coped well enough to be sold into private industrial use.
