Save up to £91 off list price and get FREE UK delivery. Manual locos stock due late September 2010. R/C locos stock due October 2010.
Ragleth is a new model live steam engine suitable for pulling trains on your 16mm or G Scale garden railway. Built on the Edrig/Caradoc chassis, Ragleth will replace them as the entry level model in the Accucraft UK fleet.
'Ragleth' looks like 'Caradoc' but the tanks are cut back and the back of the cab has been re-styled. The gas tank has a low 'brake handle' type control which makes for a tidier cab layout. Also the cab roof tips sideways instead of sliding off backwards.
The tank tops share the same feature as 'Lawley', that is there is no inside tank return down to the boiler, this makes for more room in the tank and an easier fitting of R/C.
Prices subject to possible exchange rate, or VAT changes before the next batch of this loco arrives.

Stock due March 2011.
This wonderful 16mm scale model live steam loco is a must if you are modelling trains from the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway in Wales.
1:19 scale models of W&L 0-6-0Ts ‘Countess’ and 'The Earl' are the latest live steam locomotives to be produced by Accucraft UK Ltd. This highly acclaimed loco has been very well received by customers lucky enough to already have one. Fitted with slide valves the loco has fantastic slow speed and heavy haulage capabilities.

Registration of interest for Accucraft IOM No16 Mannin 2-4-0T live steam locomotive
Save at least £100 off list price on this live steam loco and get FREE UK delivery.
Stock due approx Spring 2012 at the earliest.
Accucraft UK have announced their intention to develop a model of this locomotive in both live steam and electric. This locomotive was the last of the 2-4-0 Beyer Peacocks to be supplied to the railway, and being slightly larger and having a more conventional cab, it lends itself to a live steam version. No dates, specifications, or prices have been set as yet. This will be a Limited Edition, limited run model. Samples will be made and put out for review. However the batch will only go ahead if they get in excess of 50 units ordered, for each version.
We don't have a firm price or stock date yet , but it will help with production planning if you register your interest now should you seriously want a live steam IOM 2-4-0T "Mannin" as and when they become available.
This is a detailed 1:20.3 scale model, 45mm gauge only, built from Brass and Steel. Once the engineering sample has been inspected for space it is hoped that a single channel R/C version of this loco can be offered.
Photo: Beyer Peacock / David Lloyd-Jones collection (not of model!)
Please select from the 2 livery options below then take this free item to the checkout and supply your contact details.
Once a production schedule is announced we will contact you to "firm up" your order should you wish to proceed.
A concept sample has already been shown, this was made using existing body tooling from the other IOM electric locos. This was made to test the new steam power unit. The production model will use new body tooling and thus be a bigger model.
As a rough guide we hope to be able to sell the manual live steam version at approx £1010

First time with live steam?
If you are getting your first live steam locomotive there are a few other bits you will need.
You will need special steam cylinder oil for your loco and also a "gas can adaptor" that screws on the top of your gas can to enable you to transfer the gas to the gas tank on your loco. You will find these on our page "Garden Railway Kits & Parts".
You can get gas cans from your local DIY store, either pure Butane or a Butane/Propane mix. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE PURE PROPANE. Look for the cans with a screw fitting on the top. If using a mix gently upend the can a few times before filling your loco to ensure the gasses have not separated out otherwise you could get a shot of pure Propane.
Next take a look inside your kettle. If the element is clean and shiny then your are probably in a soft water area and you should be OK using tap water. If there is any furring up then the same would happen to your loco. If so you should collect rainwater and filter out any debris (coffee or wine filters are good) or use distilled water. DO NOT USE DE-IONISED WATER. Water from a dehumidifier is also good.
Accucraft live steam locomotives are not children's toys, they are designed for age 18 and over. Please read the instructions that come with your loco BEFORE (!) using it for the first time, and if in doubt ask.
A lot of users have found joining a club or association very rewarding, great for help and advice as well as many new friendships to be made. Details of some are on this website under "Magazines, Forums & Clubs"
